A 67-year-old Cobb County man was stabbed while walking down a Smyrna jogging trail Monday morning, police confirmed.

The victim is recovering in an area hospital after being stabbed in his spleen, Smyrna police spokesman Louis Defense told AJC.com.

The trail is along Spring Road, and the victim told police his attacker was between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot, Defense said. The suspect wore black jogging clothes and a black baseball cap.

An investigation is ongoing.
