Police are investigating an overnight shooting at a DeKalb County apartment complex after one victim went door to door seeking help.

DeKalb police investigators told Channel 2 Action News two men were involved in an altercation inside a unit at the Forest at Columbia apartments in the 2500 block of Columbia Drive when one man pulled a gun.

The victim knocked on several doors saying he was shot in the stomach, police said. When authorities arrived about 2 a.m., he was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

The second man was taken into police custody and was being interviewed Friday morning, the news station reported. Neither has been identified.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation.
