One man is in the hospital and two more are in custody after a Wednesday afternoon shootout at a gas station near a Clayton County Wal-Mart store.

Morrow police Capt. James Callaway said two pairs of men got into an argument near the Murphy USA station in the parking lot of Wal-Mart store on Jonesboro Road. Both groups fired shots at each other, and one man was hit.

That man was taken to the hospital. His condition was unknown.

Thanks to a Clayton County sheriff’s deputy who was working at the Wal-Mart, authorities were alerted quickly and, a short time after the incident, apprehended two suspected shooters at a home less than a mile away on North Shirley Drive.

Their identities were not released.

“We’re not looking for any other shooters,” Callaway said.

No more information was immediately available.
