Two people are in custody after two men were shot Wednesday afternoon in southwest Atlanta in connected crimes.

One man was shot during a carjacking at a Wendy’s on Hamilton E. Holmes Drive, police said. The shooter left the restaurant in a red Lexus and drove toward 203 Fairburn Road, Atlanta Fire spokesman Sgt. Cortez Stafford said.

Another person was shot at an apartment complex on Fairburn Road.

Police told Channel 2 Action News the shootings are connected, and two men were hit by gunfire.
