An argument at a southwest Atlanta nightclub turned violent Sunday morning when a man aimed his car at the club’s owner, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The owner was able to get out of the way after an employee fired shots at the vehicle, police told the news station.

Atlanta police spokesman Officer Steve Avery said the incident began as an argument between the driver and employees inside the Déjà Vu nightclub on the corner of Campbellton Road and Childress Drive.

“Later the male was outside the nightclub in his vehicle and tried to run into the owner of the nightclub and another employee shot at the vehicle, striking the male in the leg,” Avery said in a statement.

The driver was taken to a hospital when authorities responded about 7:30 a.m. He was stable Sunday morning, according to police.

“The investigation is still ongoing and charges are pending,” Avery said.

According to police, the employee who fired the shots will not be charged.
