A motorcyclist was killed early Thursday when he lost control of his cycle just after leaving the Downtown Connector, Atlanta police said.

About 1:20 a.m., officers responded to Langford Parkway at Metropolitan Parkway, Officer Lisa Bender said.

They found the 45-year-old man, who was not identified, with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators said the man lost control of the motorcycle while going from the I-75/85 northbound ramp onto westbound Langford Parkway. The motorcycle hit the guard rail and then a concrete barrier.

No other vehicles were involved, police said.
