Man intended target in northwest Atlanta shooting

A man died after he was shot Friday afternoon along the 490 block of Northside Circle, Atlanta police spokesman Sgt. Lukasz Sajdak said.

The man believed to be in his 30s was shot at least once about 4 p.m. near an apartment complex, police said. Authorities don’t know a motive behind the shooting, but said the man was the intended target at a press conference Friday evening.

“We’re not sure if he lives (at the apartment complex),” Atlanta police homicide commander Lt. Charles Hampton said, “But we are canvasing other apartments to see if any one heard or saw anything.”
