The family of Cynthia Morris may finally edge closer to justice after a man accused of raping and killing her 20 years ago was indicted.

Ralph Williams was charged with murder, aggravated sodomy and related charges following his indictment, according to a release from the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office.

According to the release, Williams entered Morris’ Southwest Atlanta apartment in March 1996 and raped her, then placed a gun to the back of her head and fired a shot. Morris’ body was found the next day by her boyfriend.

The case was reopened when the Georgia Bureau of Investigation discovered that DNA from the scene matched Williams’, according to the release. Williams was arrested at his job.
