A man received a life sentence Thursday after he was convicted for his role in the deadly shooting of a man in front of his 15-year-old son.

Marquis Lejon Studivant was found guilty of felony murder in the April 2017 death of Dennis Ronald Gayton, 47, according to the Hall County Superior Court clerk’s office.

The incident on Carlton Street was drug-related, Gainesville police said.

The other defendant in the incident, Tadrick Terrian Osborne, pleaded guilty in May, officials said.

Originally charged with felony murder, Osborne pleaded guilty to two counts  of conspiracy to commit a crime. He received a 20-year prison sentence.
