Police are investigating the shooting death of a man whose body was discovered Saturday morning near an East Point intersection.

Few details have been released, but the body of the 24-year-old was located about 7 a.m. near some woods at the intersection of Washington and Redwine roads, East Point police spokesman Capt. Allyn Glover said.

Authorities have not released the man’s name and it’s unclear if police are searching for any suspects in the case.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about the fatal shooting is asked to call detectives at 404-761-2177
