A man is facing murder charges in connection with the death of his 81-year-old mother, according to Gwinnett County police.

The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Otto Kim of Suwanee, was intentionally throwing himself at vehicles along Buford Highway and Suwanee Creek Road about 8:15 p.m. Sunday, according to police.

When officers responded to the scene, Kim was lying on the ground with visible injuries. He’d been hit by at least one vehicle, police said in an incident report obtained Monday by AJC.com.

At some point, Kim told officers he had just killed his mother and where they could find her, according to police.

The woman, identified as Myung Kim, was found with stab wounds to her face at the Chelsea Falls Lane home she shared with her son. She was taken to a hospital, where she later died.

“This incident stems from a domestic dispute between the mother and son from earlier in the evening,” police spokeswoman Cpl. Michele Pihera said Monday in a news release.

Kim is in the Gwinnett County Jail on charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and aggravated battery, according to online records.

The deadly incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information to share with investigators is asked to contact Gwinnett police at 770-513-5300.
