Police are searching for a man seen in surveillance footage fatally shooting a man outside a busy DeKalb County strip mall, Channel 2 Action News reported.
In the video, the man gets out of a blue Cadillac, raises his gun and fires four shots in a parking lot in the 5600 block of Redan Road around 5 p.m. Tuesday.
“He’s sitting in the parking lot for 45 minutes,” said Chris Tappan with the DeKalb County Police Department. “He’s watching his target. And he steps out to kill his target in front of everyone.”
Anthony Jordan, 29, died en route to a hospital after two of the four shots hit him, Channel 2 reported. Witnesses said he was getting his hair braided at a nearby barbershop before the deadly shooting.
Police said there is no apparent motive and no interaction between the two men until the shooting.
"I can't say if it's an incident that occurred that morning,” Tappan told Channel 2. “I don't know if it's a relationship involved with another woman. I just don't know."
And Jordan's family and friends are just as perplexed. They have not been able to offer investigators any kind of motive, according to Channel 2.
The 6-foot-2 gunman is described as heavyset. Minutes before the shooting, cameras captured him walking around a convenience store.
He was wearing what appeared to be a tactical shirt, cargo pants and police style black boots.
Anyone who recognizes him is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
