Police detained a man after a 45-year-old was shot in the head and killed Thursday evening in northwest Atlanta.

Officers responded to the shooting at an address off Woodrow Street just before 8:15 p.m. and discovered the victim, Officer Anthony Grant told AJC.com. The man, identified Friday as Anthony Roy Dennis, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Grant said officers detained another man at the home and interviewed a woman who witnessed the shooting. Police have not released either of their names and it was unclear Friday whether anyone has been charged in the case.

No other information about the shooting has been released.
