A 51-year-old man was arrested Monday after Henry County police said he allegedly shot his wife.

About midnight, Mack Weaver and another man were arguing at a home in the 100 block of Cottonbelle Drive near Stockbridge, police spokesman Mike Ireland said in an emailed statement. At some point, Weaver allegedly pulled out a gun and fired. The bullet struck Weaver’s wife, Ireland said.

The woman, whose name was not released, was taken to Atlanta Medical Center, where she was listed in stable condition.

Weaver was taken to the Henry County jail, where he was being held on a charge of aggravated assault.
