A man died Friday evening after getting stabbed multiple times during a dispute at a DeKalb County home, police said.

Officers were called to a house along Panola Valley Drive about 8:45 p.m. and discovered the man, DeKalb police Sgt. J.D. Spencer said.

The victim, who has not been identified, died at the scene.

A 24-year-old who police initially called “a person of interest” in the case was detained and later charged with the man’s murder, Spencer said.

Montrell Bennett Reynolds was booked into the DeKalb jail shortly after midnight, records show.

It’s unclear how the two men knew each other, but detectives are working to determine a motive in the stabbing, Spencer said.
