Shortly after the weekend shooting death of a DeKalb County teenager, a 19-year-old man arrived at Grady Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to the torso.

On Monday, DeKalb police charged that man, identified as Taron Turner, with murder.

“Detectives investigating the case were able to place Turner at the scene …,” DeKalb police Capt. S.R. Fore said in an email. “The investigation is ongoing and it appears the incident is drug-related.”

The body of 17-year-old Edwin Baker was found Saturday morning lying on the sidewalk outside the Spring Valley Apartment Homes off Candler Road. Turner showed up at the hospital "a short while" afterward, Fore said, and remained hospitalized Monday in stable condition.

Authorities believe Turner was shot by Baker.
