When they arrived, authorities discovered bloody footprints leading inside the home, where the body of 36-year-old Brittnie Aaron Patterson was found, Barrow County sheriff’s spokesman Maj. Ryan Sears said.

Patterson’s boyfriend, 46-year-old William Andrew Kinsey, was detained at the scene and questioned, authorities said.

On Wednesday, the sheriff’s office announced that Kinsey has been charged with serious injury by motor vehicle and reckless driving. Additional details about Patterson’s death have not been released.

An autopsy was performed by the GBI, but those results have not been made public.

Sears said additional charges against Kinsey are possible.

He remains held at the Barrow County Detention Center without bond, records show.
