A man wanted on numerous charges dating back to December 2018 was arrested by Athens police, according to the Athens Banner-Herald.

A tip led to the arrest of JaMarcus Demerio Turner, 23, who faces 13 charges in connection with multiple thefts and assaults, the news outlet reported.

Police said Turner was charged with robbery by snatching after allegedly taking a woman’s phone. At the location, he was charged with the theft of an X-Box game system and trespassing after kicking in the bedroom door of a woman he was living with, according to the Banner-Herald.

In January, police charged Turner with felony false imprisonment after he allegedly dragged a woman into a North Bluff Road home several times after she tried to leave. Police told the news outlet Turner intentionally damaged the woman’s phone. He was charged with battery after allegedly biting the woman’s thumb, police said.

Police said in June Turner kicked a third woman, pulled her hair and stole her car. He was charged with felony theft and battery in connection with that incident, according to the Athens Banner-Herald. More charges were levied against him after he allegedly punched and destroyed two televisions at a home on Sartain Drive June 16.

An Athens officer received information that Turner was at a home on Coleridge Court July 18, according to the Banner-Herald. When police arrived about 3:30 p.m., the door was locked, but a resident provided a key, officials said.

Turner was arrested without incident and was taken to the Clarke County jail, where he remains on a $25,500 bond. He is charged with two counts of second-degree damage to property, a felony county of theft by taking, a misdemeanor count of theft by taking, simple battery, obstructing/hindering person making emergency telephone call, cruelty to children, battery, false imprisonment, robbery, criminal trespass, first-degree burglary and probation violation.
