Man allegedly followed teen, exposed himself on MARTA train

Police are working to find the man.

MARTA police are investigating after a man followed a teen onto a MARTA train and exposed himself to her, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The 19-year-old had flown from Florida to Atlanta about 11:30 a.m Wednesday and boarded a train at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the news station reported. She was in town to visit her parents in Marietta.

Shortly after she boarded, she said the man followed her and exposed himself.

"It was terrifying," she told Channel 2. “He was looking at me right in my eyes as he was doing it. It was so violating.”

The victim took a picture of the man, who then ran off the train at the Oakland City station.

The woman followed the man and asked nearby officers for help, but they were unable to find the man.

“MARTA is currently investigating this incident,” MARTA police Cpl. Brian Lauda said Friday in a statement. “There are no new reports involving this suspect at this time.”

Lauda said MARTA is one of the safest mass transit systems in the country and considers security a high priority.

He urged riders to download the transit system’s See&Say app to report any suspicious activity or call 911. Riders can also call MARTA at 404-8484-4911 to report emergencies.

A description of the man has not been released.
