Union City police arrested a 26-year-old man they say sexually assaulted an underage girl. Now the department is asking anyone else he may have victimized to come forward.

Ian Christian Evans of Riverdale was arrested March 24 on several charges, including statutory rape, according to Fulton County Jail records.

The police department opened an investigation after it became aware of an incident involving a man and an underage girl, according to spokesman Officer Jerome Turner. Once investigators spoke to the victim, it became apparent that the suspect was an adult who knew she was a minor, Turner said. Police identified Evans as the suspect in the case.

“He uses social media platforms to target the victims and gains their trust,” Turner said.

Evans is in the Fulton County Jail with no bond, records show. In addition to statutory rape, he is charged with child molestation, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and enticing a child for indecent purposes.

“We believe there may be more victims associated with Mr. Evans and want to ensure that each victim receive justice,” Turner said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Union City Detective M. Miles at 770-815-7967 or by email at mmiles@unioncityga.org.
