The man who was charged in the accidental shooting death of a 16-year-old girl on the Fourth of July is out on bond.

Marcel Smith, 23, was released on bond from custody on Friday, according to Fulton County Jail records. Smith was arrested Thursday in connection with the death of Rasheedah Evans, the 16-year-old girl who was hit by a stray bullet while watching a movie in her College Park home on July 4.

Investigators believe the gunshot was a result of celebratory gunfire during the Independence Day holiday weekend and that Evans' death was unintentional.

Jail records indicate Smith is charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct.
