Atlanta police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead Tuesday night.

Three people were shot about 8:30 p.m. along the 600 block of Smith Street in southwest Atlanta, police spokesman Officer Lukasz Sajdak said.

The people were initially reported as alert, conscious and breathing, but one later died at Grady Memorial Hospital, Sajdak said.

Two were shot in the leg and another was shot in the buttocks and stomach, Sajdak said.

Police said several casings were found at the scene.

Sajdak said the suspected gunman was driving a red pickup truck at the time of the shooting.

The victims’ names were not released.

Police are also investigating shooting along the 2200 block of Cascade Road where a man was shot in the head. He is in critical condition.

The two are not related, Sajdak said.

Smith Street and Cascade Road are about 10-minute drive from each other.

No arrests have been made in either incident.
