A search is underway for three men who shot and killed an overnight manager at a 24-hour laundromat in DeKalb County, police said.

Police got a call of a person shot about midnight at the Coin Laundry in the 3500 block of Memorial Drive.

When they got to the laundromat, located in Belvedere Plaza, officers found Carlos Lemons with multiple gunshot wounds in front of the business,  DeKalb Maj. Stephen Fore said.

Detectives said Lemons, 25, of Decatur, was shot after he approached three men who were loitering outside the business, police said.

"When confronted,” Fore said, “the males fired multiple shots striking the victim who died on the scene.”

After the shooting, the men in their 20s ran from the scene.

Detectives are talking to customers who were inside the laundry facility and witnessed the shooting, Channel 2 Action News reported. They are reviewing footage from the laundromat surveillance, which captured the deadly shooting.

The owner told Channel 2 that Lemons has a daughter and was hired three months ago to manage the laundromat.

No other details were released.
