A woman accused of leading police on a high-speed chase in Coweta County on Mother’s Day had her two children riding in the backseat without seat belts, officials said.

Taneka Taylor’s license had already been suspended four times before this arrest, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Police say Taylor was driving along Ga. 16 in Senoia about 3 p.m. Sunday when officers pulled her over for a suspended license.

She then took off, leading police on a 100-mph chase, Channel 2 reported.

“She was crossing the center line, passing cars and running (them) off the roadway,” Senoia police Lt. James McCue said. “I mean, it was a very dangerous situation.”

But what made it worse, police said, was finding two girls in the car without seat belts.

“Once we did a felony takedown of the car, we realized there were kids in the backseat,” McCue said. “And that was the scariest part of the situation we could ever be faced with.”

Taylor was arrested, but has since bonded out of the Coweta County jail.
