An 18-year-old faces a murder charge after police say he shot and killed his 17-year-old brother Wednesday night following an argument at their DeKalb County home.

About 8:40 p.m., police found Corinthian Hayes with no signs of life on the front steps of his home in the 1000 block of Holcombe Road, according to a DeKalb police report.

“It appears that there may have been some sort of dispute between the brothers when the younger brother was shot,” DeKalb police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell said.

Dashonn Hayes was arrested and taken to the DeKalb County jail.

Channel 2 Action News reported that video was found on social media that shows Hayes playing with a gun before the deadly shooting. Detectives told the news station Hayes threatened his younger sibling just days earlier.

Police said the only other person home at the time was a 15-year-old sister. The parents arrived a short time later, Channel 2 reported.
