A 7-year-old boy was caught in the crossfire when two groups started shooting at a DeKalb County apartment complex Sunday night, police said.
The boy was standing in the parking lot of the Spring Valley Apartments when he was hit in the arm, according to DeKalb County police spokesman Maj. Jerry Lewis.
He was in critical condition when police and paramedics arrived at 9:20 p.m. to the complex, which is located on Misty Waters Drive off Candler Road. The boy was stable when he was taken to a hospital, Lewis told Channel 2 Action News in an email.

The exchange of gunfire resulted from “an argument between two groups of people,” Lewis said. The boy was several feet away at the time.
An investigation is ongoing. Police have not said if anyone involved in the shooting was identified or apprehended.
