The blue vehicle that was seen leaving the scene crashed into the sign at the Friendly Hills Apartment Homes, Channel 2 Action News reported.

A car sped from the scene of a deadly shooting Tuesday night and crashed into the sign of a DeKalb County apartment complex, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Just after 7 p.m., DeKalb police responded to Maypop Lane in unincorporated Decatur and saw the blue vehicle drive off, the news station reported.

Officers found a body in a parking lot, DeKalb police spokesman Sgt. J.D. Spencer said in an emailed statement. The victim’s name has not been released.

About two miles away, the blue vehicle that was seen leaving the scene smashed the sign at the Friendly Hills Apartment Homes.

“One of the occupants was detained for questioning,” Spencer said.
