A 19-year-old accused of killing a teenager at a house party last week turned himself in over the weekend, Henry County police said.
Dexter Deshawn Covington surrendered to officials Friday night after warrants were taken out for his arrest in the murder of 17-year-old Jesse Thomas.

Thomas, a Stockbridge High School senior, was celebrating his acceptance into Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, Fla., during the May 13 shooting at a home in McDonough.
The 6-foot-4 teen intended to continue his basketball career there. Stockbridge plans to retire his No. 13 jersey next season.
Covington faces murder, aggravated assault, reckless conduct and criminal trespass charges. He remains in the Henry County jail.
It is not known if Covington and Thomas knew each other or what exactly led to the shooting, but Thomas’ father told Channel 2 Action News a fight broke out and escalated.
