DeKalb County’s SWAT team was called to a Family Dollar on Saturday morning after the store was robbed at gunpoint, authorities said.

Pine Lake police responded to a “person in distress” call at the Rockbridge Road store about 9 a.m., DeKalb police spokesman Sgt. J.D. Spencer told AJC.com.

When officers arrived, an employee told them the store had been robbed. Believing the suspect may still be inside, police surrounded the building and called in the SWAT team to locate the robber.

Police searched the store but could not find the suspect, who likely left before officers arrived, Spencer said.

Nobody was injured in the robbery and it's unclear how much money was stolen.
Anyone with information on the suspect's whereabouts is asked to call 911.
