A man wanted for murder in Floyd County turned himself in Tuesday, authorities confirmed.

Wallace Junior Chambers, 46, is accused of shooting and killing 74-year-old Johnny Lewis Price on Thursday afternoon, AJC.com previously reported.

Price was found with several gunshot wounds in the 500 block of Hardy Avenue about 5:50 p.m., Rome police said. He was laying on the ground near a gold truck, and he died after being taken to a nearby hospital.

Investigators said Price had gotten into an argument with Chambers shortly before the shooting. Witnesses said Chambers retrieved a gun and shot Price multiple times before leaving the scene, police said.

The men were neighbors in a south Rome neighborhood, according to police. It remains unclear what they were arguing about, but police described it as a “silly argument that turned deadly and that’s a shame.”

Wallace Chambers has turned himself in to the Floyd County Sheriff's Office for Murder charges. Thank you to Investigator Chip Atchley and the U.S. Marshall's Service for your assistance.
