A security guard at a gated northeast Atlanta apartment complex was pinned between two cars when he tried to question the driver of a suspicious vehicle, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The guard spotted a car circling the Radius Cheshire Bridge apartments on Cheshire Bridge Road around midnight Sunday. When he approached, its driver reportedly backed up, hit a dumpster and then rammed into the guard, the news station reported.

The guard fired off a few rounds into the ground before the car sped away. A resident, Jason Koty, told Channel 2 he heard three gunshots.

“I tried to look out my window and I saw a car leaving but I couldn’t tell which it was,” Koty said.

Atlanta police responded to the scene and Koty said he saw the guard loaded into the back of an ambulance. Police are still investigating and have not released any details on the incident, Channel 2 reported.
