A stolen SUV led Atlanta police on a brief chase Wednesday before the people in the vehicle attempted to run away, police said.

Officers were attempting to make a traffic stop on a stolen white Nissan Murano near Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Peyton Place around 8:40 p.m., Atlanta police spokeswoman Stephanie Brown told AJC.com.

The vehicle then fled from officers, Brown said. The three people in the vehicle ended up fleeing on foot near Howell Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

The vehicle’s driver and one passenger are in custody, but Brown said a man is still on the loose. Neither the suspect’s names nor descriptions were available.

No other details were released, and an investigation is ongoing.
