A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in southwest Atlanta on Friday night, police said.

Officers responded to the 3700 block of Campbellton Road just before 10 p.m., Atlanta police said. A man was found lying dead on the ground.

The driver of the vehicle involved stayed at the scene, police said. No other details on this incident were provided.

An investigation is ongoing.
