Two people were shot at a Clayton County grocery store Thursday evening, police said.

The shooting happened at the Food Depot on Ga. 42 in Rex, Clayton County police spokesman Officer David Portis said in a statement. When police responded to the store about 6 p.m., they found the wounded man and woman lying on the ground.

“Both victims were alert, and were transported to a local area hospital for treatment,” Portis said.

Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, according to police.

“The suspects have not been identified at this time,” Portis said. “This is an ongoing investigation, and no further information is being released at this time.”
