A man was found dead outside a DeKalb County gas station after someone opened fire early Wednesday morning.
The 39-year-old victim was shot multiple times in the parking lot of a Citgo on Moreland Avenue just inside of I-285, according to DeKalb police. A black sedan was found riddled with bullets when officers arrived just after 1 a.m., and more than 20 shell casings were discovered by investigators.

On Wednesday night, dozens gathered at the gas station to mourn Ladson, who Dixon said was at the gas station to buy candy on his way home, Channel 2 Action News reported.
“Why would they do this to him,” Dixon said. “He didn’t deserve that at all. Help us get (the shooter) off the streets, so they won’t do this to nobody else.”
