Authorities shut down I-20 in southwest Atlanta overnight after a man was shot in the head while driving on the interstate, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The man was shot just after midnight in the westbound lanes near Martin Luther King Drive. Officers responding to the scene found him behind the wheel of a silver Volkswagen Jetta, the news station reported.

The 33-year-old victim, who has not been identified, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

Multiple lanes of the interstate were closed until about 2:30 a.m. while investigators collected evidence. They have not determined a motive, the news station reported.
