Two suspects are accused of using electric scooters to ambush a man and steal his rental car in Midtown, authorities said.

Just after 9:45 p.m. Monday, the man told officers he was carjacked by two young men at the Chevron gas station at 180 Ponce de Leon Avenue, Atlanta police spokeswoman TaSheena Brown said. The two men attacked him, stole his vehicle and left the scene.

The victim suffered cuts and scratches but did not need medical treatment, Brown said.

The stolen vehicle was a 2019 Ford Taurus with a Tennessee tag, police said. Investigators are also looking at the scooters to “see if they can gather information from them that may help further the investigation.”
