For the second time this week, authorities have arrested suspects following a chase on an Atlanta interstate.
The chase had shut down two lanes on I-20 eastbound near the Downtown Connector after Atlanta police arrested two people implicated in a robbery, Officer Stephanie Brown said.
“Preliminary information is indicating that officers were attempting to conduct a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle occupied by robbery suspects in (southwest Atlanta),” she said.
Officers found the men in a stolen car on Birch Street and Evans Drive.
The men led the officers on a chase, which stopped on I-20 near Capitol Gateway Apartments, Brown said. The men got out of the car and ran, but two were soon apprehended.
Officers are searching the area for the third suspect.
Lanes on I-20 reopened about 7 p.m., according to Channel 2 Action News.
On Tuesday, DeKalb County authorities arrested one man after he and an accomplice allegedly took a car and led them on a chase, police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell said. Three cars were hit during the chase.
