A two-car crash on I-20 in Atlanta led to one vehicle overturning twice and both of them hitting concrete barriers, state troopers said.

The incident, which took place just before 7:30 a.m. Friday, happened on I-20 East near Hunter E. Holmes Drive, according to a Georgia State Patrol crash report. Troopers said the driver of a Cadillac SRX drove recklessly and at a high rate of speed, causing the wreck.

The Cadillac sideswiped a Volvo CX90, causing both vehicles to spin into nearby concrete barriers, according to the report. The Cadillac flipped twice after hitting the barrier and came to a stop while overturned.

The Cadillac’s driver, a 34-year-old Mableton woman, was taken to Atlanta Medical Center with minor injuries. A 53-year-old passenger in the Volvo was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, while the Volvo’s driver was not hurt.

According to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center, the scene was cleared about an hour and a half after the crash.

The GSP did not say whether the Cadillac’s driver will be charged. The investigation is ongoing.
