One Texas man acted quickly during an attempted robbery of his home, using a loaded weapon against his assailants.
The victim began shooting toward the robbery suspects’ car while they attempted to drive away from the scene. He hit three of the four alleged perpetrators, according to Dallas police spokesperson Tamika Kimbrough.
On Monday morning officers responded to a robbery call. They met the victim, who told them he was inside his house when three suspects entered his residence.
One of the suspects assaulted the homeowner while the other two hauled stolen property to a getaway vehicle, where a fourth suspect was waiting.
When the four suspects got into the getaway car and attempted to drive away, the homeowner used a personal firearm and fired multiple shots toward the fleeing vehicle. Three of the four suspects were struck.
The suspects' vehicle stopped less than a mile away. The one uninjured suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled.
The remaining three suspects were transported to a hospital in police custody, Kimbrough said.
Texas police are still investigating the case.
