Police are searching for a woman who hit a child with her vehicle and then drove away in northwest Atlanta.

About 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, officers went to the 3000 block of Delmar Lane after the girl was struck by a black Mercedes, Atlanta police said. The child was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver fled the scene after being confronted by a witness and the child’s guardian, police said.

Aside from the make and color, authorities did not have a description of the suspect’s vehicle. No description of the suspect was available either.
