Gainesville police are searching for the driver who critically injured a pedestrian Monday morning during a hit-and-run.

A little after 3 a.m., a man was struck by a vehicle on Atlanta Highway near Ray Street, Gainesville police said. Another driver found the injured man about 30 minutes later and called 911.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he remained in critical condition Tuesday.

The department released surveillance video that shows a Chevy Express passenger van that investigators believe is tied to the crime. The van appears to be champagne in color.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Gainesville police at 770-534-5251.
