A man who prosecutors say had sex with an underage girl has been sentenced to life in prison, according to the Henry County District Attorney’s Office.
Gabriel Ahmed, 35, of Locust Grove, received a life sentence with the first 30 years to serve in prison after pleading guilty Monday to one count of aggravated child molestation and two counts of child molestation.
District Attorney Darius Pattillo said Ahmed had sex with the girl in the woods behind a home in McDonough when she was 13 years old in 2017.
The child took the stand during the plea hearing and told Superior Court Judge Holly Veal that Ahmed took advantage of her, Pattillo said.
In addition to his life sentence, Ahmed must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life and have no contact with the victim.
“This man preyed upon this child,” Pattillo said. “The child and her family are satisfied that he will spend the next three decades in prison and be a registered sex offender for life.”
