A probable cause hearing for the man charged in connection with the death of an Iraq War veteran from Cobb County was canceled.
Attorneys for James Bradshaw Clement asked to waive the hearing that was set for Thursday, and prosecutors agreed, said Kim Isaza, spokeswoman for the Cobb County District Attorney’s office.
The next step in the case is for prosecutors to seek an indictment of Clement from the grand jury, Isaza said. No specific date for that is scheduled. However, the district attorney’s usual goal is to present cases to the grand jury within 90 days of a suspect’s arrest.

Clement is charged with concealing the death of Chase Massner, whose remains were found in August behind a house in Kennesaw where Clement once lived, police said.
Clement disappeared in early August but was arrested in DeKalb County after about a week on the run. He’s being held in the Cobb County jail without bond.
An autopsy on Massner’s remains drew no conclusions about the cause of his death, officials said.
