A 22-year-old Hall County man was indicted on Monday for allegedly murdering his father and other charges, authorities confirmed.

Daniel Wallis Burchardt faces charges of malicious murder, possession of a drug object, possession of synthetic cannabinoids and three counts of violating probation.

He was arrested in White County and booked into the Hall County Jail on April 6, Lt. Scott Ware said.

He allegedly killed his father, Tony Burchardt, in his Gainesville home. The cause of death was blunt force trauma, according to an autopsy.

Burchardt had been under house arrest on drug, aggravated assault and burglary charges, Ware said. Burchardt’s ankle monitor was also located at the scene.

The suspect was arrested by White County deputies after a lookout was issued.
