A Lilburn man has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman shot in a car in Gwinnett County last week.
Visheslav Feder, 29, was taken into custody in Arkansas on Saturday and is facing charges of murder and aggravated assault, Gwinnett County police said Monday. He remains in custody there.
The woman, 25-year-old Avery Birthrong of Lilburn, was fatally shot early Tuesday in the area of Rockbridge and Five Forks Trickum roads, police said. Her friends continued driving to the next open business, a nearby BP gas station in the Stone Mountain area, to call for help.

When DeKalb County officers responded to the gas station about 4:20 a.m., Birthrong was found dead in a white Honda sedan. The BP station is located on the corner of Hugh Howell and Lilburn Stone Mountain roads in the Smoke Rise community.
Two men in the Honda with Birthrong told officers that someone fired into their car, then drove away.

“Feder was recognized by the witnesses in the victim’s vehicle, however his real name was not known at the time,” Gwinnett police Sgt. Jake Smith said in a statement. “Detectives were able to identify him and obtain a warrant for his arrest on (Friday).”
Feder was stopped on I-40 in west Arkansas by state police. His intended destination was not known, Smith said.
Birthrong's family members have set up a GoFundMe page to help with expenses. A funeral was planned for Sunday in Lawrenceville.
