An Athens man became abusive and was arrested after his wife did not precisely follow his instructions for making him a grilled cheese sandwich, Channel 2 Action News reported.
The sandwich had three slices of cheese when he requested two, the station reported.
James DePaola, 55, screamed at his wife Michele DePaola, 51, so stridently that his saliva was hitting her face, Athens-Clarke County police said.
Their 12-year-old daughter called 911 from her mother’s cellphone because she said her father hit her mother and pulled the phone out of the wall, Channel 2 reported. James DePaola admitted he pulled the phone from the wall, saying he did not want his wife to call 911 for a “stupid” reason, police said.
He was charged with obstruction of a 911 call and criminal trespass/damage to property, Channel 2 reported.
Michele DePaola told police her husband has a history of violent and abusive behavior, the station reported.
