A Barrow County high school student left school in a helicopter Thursday after having her head slammed into a wall during a fight with another student, authorities said.

The fight at Winder-Barrow High School was captured on cellphone video, which is circulating on social media, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The video graphically shows a teenage girl’s head hit a concrete wall, and a loud popping sound can be heard. The incident took place between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.

The names of the two students were not released, and the girl’s injuries remain unknown. She was flown to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, Channel 2 reported.

The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident through its school resource officers, the news station reported. Deputies are in contact with both students’ families, but the events that led up to the fight are unclear.

The sheriff’s office is also trying to find the person who recorded the fight, Channel 2 reported. About 15 to 20 people are believed to have witnessed the incident.

No other information has been released.

Donald Trump's administration deployed the military to Washington, D.C., in the name of fighting crime, and in an Aug. 11 news conference he mentioned the possibility of military being sent to other large American cities, all of which are led by Black, Democratic mayors. And while Atlanta wasn't included in Trump's list, the city fits that profile under Mayor Andre Dickens. (Photo Illustration: Philip Robibero / AJC | Source: Getty)
