A Fulton County police officer was fired and may face criminal charges after he was accused of raping a woman in Alpharetta, according to Channel 2 Action News.
Bobby Ransom was fired Feb. 16, long after the alleged incident, the station reported.
Ransom, 33, forced his way into a woman’s residence last May while he was wearing his badge and service weapon, according to a police report. He forced himself on the woman, police said.

Ransom was fired because he first denied knowing or having sex with the alleged victim, Channel 2 reported, citing multiple sources. He later admitted to it but said “it was consensual.”
The Fulton County District Attorney’s office is looking into the case.
“It is still under investigation,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement. “It is our plan to reach some conclusion in the matter within 90 days.”
