A man who became a fugitive after a fight with his daughter’s mother last month was captured Monday in North Carolina.

Cameron Beckett allegedly fought with the woman when she was late to meet Beckett on April 30, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The mother tried to drive off after deputies say Beckett broke her sunglasses in half.

But instead of going home, Beckett jumped onto the woman’s car with a gun in hand and fired shots inside, according to the release.

Neither the child nor the mother was hit.

Beckett is charged with child cruelty, aggravated assault and firing a gun near a highway.

He is expected to return to Clayton County’s jail.
